Multidisciplinary visual artist and musician Carrie Able is pleased to announce the forthcoming release of her new single Lady Prodigy, with a subsequent live performance and music video premiere at Mercury Lounge on October 2nd in New York City.

Dropping October 1 on Spotify, Lady Prodigy is Able’s fourth single release in 2021. Following the international success of Needle in the Head, which achieved over 1.3 million streams within 5 weeks of release, Lady Prodigy, is another reflective ballad with a universal message.

Deeply personal to Able’s experience as a female creative, the lyrics in Lady Prodigy follow a melody of empowerment, noting the need for women to continually claim ownership over their creations. Isabel Draves, the founder of Creative Tech Week, has stated these to be her favorite lyrics by Able, based on their universal relatability.

Able’s showcase at Mercury Lounge will also feature examples of her virtual reality paintings and the launch of 3D printed wearable sculptures. A preview of the much-anticipated album launch in spring 2022, Able is set to give a live audience a taste of what is to come at her largest, international solo exhibition, opening April 2022 at the Venice Biennale.

This exhibition, commissioned by the European Cultural Center (ECC), will debut not only the album release, but a selection of paintings, volumetric sculptures, and additional Augmented and Virtual Reality experiences.

Able has been described by the ECC as, “our first exhibiting multimedia artist to simultaneously bridge the worlds of music, dance, traditional oil painting, poetry, and mixed reality with all of her works.
